We are offering you a free day of in-person media law training on Thursday, 10 October 2024, which will cover an introduction to media law for those new to policing or wanting a brush up on the basics, followed by an advanced session to build upon what you have learned in the morning.
The day will be held at Derbyshire Constabulary's Joint Training Centre in Ripley, led by the highly regarded legal expert, Amanda Ball, who lectures in Media Law at Nottingham Trent University.
Media law training is always popular and a full of valuable learning, and the in-person event gives you a great opportunity to engage directly with your communications colleagues and Amanda’s training. Spaces are limited, and will be allocated on a first-come, first served basis.
We’re keen to make sure that this training covers off the areas which you will find most useful; Amanda will bring her expertise with a well-planned day of training, but we’re also asking you to get in touch with her directly if there are any specific topics you want to focus on, or any questions which may have challenged your team in recent months. She can be contacted on amandajball17@gmail.com.
APComm Vice-chair Sarah Whiteside from the College of Policing will be there on the day to support the event.
