Media and Media Law training and advisory services tender opportunity

This tender opportunity details the requirements of the Association of Police Communicators (APComm) to provide the provision of regular media and social media law training and advisory services for the period 17 August 2026 - 31 March 2028.

Objective:

APComm requires the services of a media and social media law expert(s) to support training and education of all members for the period of time as described above. The requirement of these services is to ensure APComm members have access to regular media and social media law training, featuring the latest examples of it being applied in practice, any changes to legislation and case law. This would also provide an opportunity to share best practice across our membership.

APComm also requires a commitment from the individual(s) to provide professional advice to members on an ad hoc basis on specific media and social media law matters they may encounter.

Requirements:

Training requirement consisting of:

  • A minimum of six media and social media law training events within the outlined period.  These will be tailored sessions for beginners and more advanced course delegates and be planned annually in advance.  Dates will be agreed between the APComm Executive and the service provider and feature a hybrid of in-person events and remote online training across a variety of days and times to provide as much access to members as possible.  Organisation of venues and IT logistics will be facilitated by APComm, however the service provider will be solely responsible for course content, presentations, materials as approved by the APComm Executive.  Payment for such sessions will be agreed on a day rate basis and suppliers need to provide this costing as part of the tender process.
  • Ad hoc media and social media law training as required by APComm, such as forming part of the network’s annual CPD Academy events.

Media and social media law advisory services:

  • The availability a media and social media law professional to be able to respond to phone and email enquiries from APComm members within 48 hours.  This advice will be based on professional knowledge and experience.  Within the tender response suppliers should provide the cost of an annual retainer fee for this service availability and detail how this service will be accessed for APComm members.
  • The supplier will provide content and FAQs to form part of the APComm website on regular media and social media law advisory matters.

The above services are required for the period of time as outlined, and a breakdown of costs are required for the total above service provision by each supplier.

APComm reserves the right to accept or reject all or any part of the mini competition and does not bind itself to accept the lowest priced or any response.
